Does own a lightsaber but seldom uses it since he’s not very good at handling it. He rarely carries it, and when he does it is for intimidation purposes. When forced to use a saber, he fights one-handed in the Makashi style.

To finally set down roots. Ras has been on the move for so long that having a place to call home and his own is starting to sound nice. (Honestly, even just owning a piece of furniture would melt his heart)

To see the Black Spire succeed. He respects their goals and wants this place to be his new home.

To learn how to say “no” to things.

To be seen as someone who is more than just a “Jedi” and accept that he doesn't need to hold to their responsibilities.

To come to an understanding of the Force in his own way, separate from more organized practices (and regain some more of his lost Force powers).

To find Elari’s homeworld and release her back into the wild.

To retire, grow old on his own terms, and die peacefully. How many Jedi get to do that?

Ras has grown frustrated by the politics that the Jedi keep involving themselves with and is tired of watching his peers constantly die in service of the Republic. A small part of him wishes the Jedi would go in complete isolation and leave the Republic to sort of its own mess.

Ras is looking to shoulder off the responsibilities of what it means to be a Jedi. He can play the part if needed but quietly resents the way people’s expectations for him change when they find out he was once a Jedi. He has little desire to be a hero anymore and quietly dreads being dragged back into the lifestyle.

He believes the Task Force Nova exists primarily to get the Jedi back in order so they can return to fighting for the Republic.

He does try to find peaceful solutions to problems, but fully understands that this can’t always be the case.

06 BTC - Dropped off as an infant to the Temple of Coruscant and confirmed Force-sensitive.

05 BTC - [age 1] Starts the standard Jedi Initiate training regimen.

00 ATC - [Age 6] Present in the temple during the sacking of Coruscant. Escaped along with his Initiate class thanks to his teacher.

Shuffled around constantly while the Jedi recovered.

02 ATC - [Age 8] Moved along with his class to the recently rediscovered Tython.

05 ATC - [Age 11] Accidentally injured by one of his classmates who thought it would be a "fun idea" to play around with a real lightsaber (this led to Ras getting impaled through the shoulder). His saber skills and confidence would suffer as a result, and he became swiftly outpaced by his peers. To compensate, he started focusing on Force telekinetics (and became pretty talented at them).

06 ATC - [Age 12] The Tython Jedi Temple construction is finished. He, along with his class, started attending the newly built academy.

07 ATC - [Age 13] Passed his Initiate Trials. He went unclaimed for 2 years.

09 ATC - [Age 15] Finally claimed as a Padawan by Master Kalb Kewee, a Jedi Guardian and Investigator. She deemed him "the only decent mind out of the lot" and cited this as her reason for choosing him. She proved a hard and pitiless teacher, believing that only through such methods Ras would overcome his disadvantages. He tried his best to live up to her expectations but struggled to do so.

12 ATC - [Age 18] The Cold War ends, and the Galactic War kicks off. Kalb and her Padawan were assigned various investigative tasks throughout the war (typically tracking down and rooting out clandestine threats to the Republic. He probably encountered a few Empire intelligence officers this way).

Continued to work with master Kalb rooting out threats to the republic. Together they had a decent track record.

14 ATC - [Age 20] Failed his Jedi Trials to become a knight (Didn't pass the “Trial of Courage” and physical/lightsaber portion of the “Trial of Skill”).

16 ATC - [Age 22] Retook and finally passed his Jedi trials... just in time for the Eternal Empire to start its conquest.

Ras and Kalb served in the defense of the Republic, fighting against the Eternal Empire's conquest.

Like many Jedi, they went into hiding after the war was lost.

22 ATC - [age 28] Ras and Kalb resurfaced again when the Alliance formed and they joined in the uprising against the Zakuul.

24 ATC - [Age 30] Migrated to the Jedi colony on Ossus to help with their rebuilding efforts.

25 ATC - [Age 31] The Ossus colony was attacked and, like many Jedi, Ras was evacuated. The Republic and Empire went to war yet again.

27 ATC - [Age 33] Assigned to an investigative team by Task Force Nova which was tasked with tracking down and salvaging what Jedi records and artifacts had survived. He served in this capacity for about 3 years.

29 ATC - [Age 35] While attempting to retrieve an artifact with his team, Ras was severed from the Force (how exactly is still pending, likely either a Sith/Jedi attack or a temple trap). Unable to be sensed through the Force, he was assumed dead by his team and left behind. It took him nearly half a year to limp back to a Jedi settlement.

30 ATC - [age 36] Tried to readapt but found his inability to access the Force to be a major setback. This, coupled with growing resentment towards those who still could use the Force, led Ras to quietly leave the Jedi order and strike out on his own.

He bumbled around the remote corners of the galaxy for a couple of years, living in hostels and picking up an assortment of odd jobs (this was the first time he earned money). He experienced a VERY steep learning curve, having always relied on the Force and the other Jedi to understand the way the world worked. (He was definitely mugged and scammed several times over this period). Believing he had hit rock bottom, he lapsed into a bitter depression and drank away much of his credits, wallowing in self-pity.

32 ACT - [Age 38] He rescued (and then adopted) a Jubba bird from a disreputable exotic animal salesperson and smuggler. The two would bond and become inseparable. Ras would later say Elari rescued him as much as he did her. Having a creature in his life whose survival depended upon him gave him purpose and helped him get his life back into order.

33 ACT - [Age 39] Discovered that he was able to lift small objects with the Force again, and started working towards nurturing this skill and reconnecting with the Force.

35 ATC - [Age 41] Runs into an old informant who used to report Ras back when he was a Jedi investigator, and the two spend some time catching up and reminiscing. The informant mentions hearing about an outpost on a nearby planet (founded by former imperial intelligence officials who broke away after the sith empire fractured). He says it might be a haven for individuals looking to get away from the constant tangle of war and politics the empire and republic are embroiled in. Intrigued, Ras sets out to investigate...

About as intelligent as a parrot or raven and is very easy to train.

She is wild-caught and is native to Dagobah.

Eats bugs, scraps of meat, and fruit.

Ras knows she is a Jubba bird but doesn’t know where she comes from (though he is trying to find out). He hopes to release her back into the wild someday.

She makes up little tunes for people and will sing them in greeting when she sees them.

Wears bird sweaters to help stay warm since she doesn’t have feathers. When in a new area, Ras will also put a harness on her so she doesn’t fly off and get stuck somewhere.

Explores the world by biting and pawing with her feet.

She sounds like a more resonant, deeper-voiced budgie and is very vocal. When in a good mood she has a very soothing, if not slightly eerie, song which is enhanced with the Force (I imagine this sounding “liquidy” similar to a Veery and a Musical Wren but sweeter and more cohesive/lyrical). She is also able to mimic tunes and whistling/beeping noises like a cockatiel, but can’t replicate voices or words. (NOTE: though her song is Force enhanced, it has no mechanical effect and is solely for flavor)

As a creature sensitive to the Force, she is able to sense motives and intentions in others, similar to a Force user. Since Ras has (for the most part) lost this ability, he has trained Elari to indicate to him when she senses people nearby who have malintent -or- are Force users. This is done through a small series of whistles and a hard stare at the target. (NOTE: Mechanically, this ability is a stand-in for Ras’ “Force User Skill: Sense”)

Suffers from arthritis

A fierce Jedi back in her day, Kalb led a very successful career as a guardian. But as the number of experienced Jedi thinned, she was recruited for teaching.

Kalb was a demanding teacher, expecting not only the best from her students but that they should be able to handle any situation.

Ras was her 9th (and final) student. While she may have had a long career as a teacher, her record has been far from perfect. Only 4 out of the 9 padawans she taught have gone on to lead successful lives as Jedi.

She saw training Rasalas as a personal test, and the fact that he would become severed from the Force was seen by her as yet another failure.

Kalb is still alive and is working as a researcher for Task Force Nova. She has no idea where Ras is currently since he left without warning.
